Excellent overall, minor details are only issue

Published by Mike on Oct 29th 2019

I would first like to say that the communication with SWP was great. They responded to questions within 24 hours every time, and on most occasions within just a couple hours. They even took the time to reinstall my Trijicon ironsights, so I would highly regard the customer service. The craftsmanship of the milling is excellent overall. The side and top serrations are excellent and improve the performance and functionality compared to a stock M&P. The cerakote work is flawless as well. The turnaround was almost exactly 6 weeks so be prepared to part ways with your firearm for a little while. The details are where I start taking some points off. The window cut on the right side of the slide has some noticeable fouling, likely from where the cutting tool needed to be sharpened, or possibly because the slide was pushed a little too quickly through the milling tool. I can share photos if anyone wishes to see them. When you're paying in excess of $300 you would hope that the work is nearly flawless, and unfortunately this work does have some noticeable flaws. I showed my gunsmith the work and he noticed the fouling almost immediately. That being said, the fouling is only cosmetic and has no effect on the function of the weapon. If you're a perfectionist then you may want to consider another company for milling and slide work, however this deserves a very solid 4 stars. I am happy overall with the work done, and with the great customer service experience.
